Neck

The detailed discussion with the patient about previous illnesses, medication, use of hormonal preparations, possible diseases of the thyroid gland in the family, general and specific complaints are followed by specific examinations according to the medical question: Palpation (palpation of the neck for pain sensitivity, lymph nodes, swellings, mobility of the larynx); ultrasound examination to detect structural conditions; scintigraphy to prove the functioning of the thyroid gland; fine needle aspiration to take tissue samples from the neck area; blood test to determine possible malfunctions of the thyroid gland.
